Chuckles’ Foolproof Plan
I’m a little late putting this up today, partly because I was at a Starbucks after seeing Spectre last night. I just had to make fun of the sweet drinks that made Starbucks famous because (sorry for the yelling) THEY DON’T TASTE LIKE COFFEE! For my part I actually do enjoy a good strong/bitter longpour Americano (with only a little hot water) from Starbucks often over a lot of the indy coffee shops that are spreading like wildfire everywhere. I’m not proud of it, but there it is!
Stay tooned for one last comic in this story line!
Have a good holiday, loyal Primate Posse™!
Ha!!! Gus got the last say. I don’t go for all this flavoured coffee that tastes like everything but coffee.
I remember going to a fancy new age coffee shop for the 1st time. The menu board was overwhelming with all the different types of coffee & stuff. I asked for a “Normal Coffee” The Lady’s reply “What do you mean Normal?” I told her I just wanted normal regular coffee. Coffee, milk & 2 sugars. “Oh you mean a Flat White”. So apparently there’s no such thing as a normal coffee anymore. Everything has to be given a trendy sounding name these days. I wonder what they’d call a glass of water?
Ha ha! That is the way of Modern Coffee™! So, Tony, what DO you consider to be a normal coffee down under? Is it drip coffee (what one might call “a good old American cup of joe” – to quote Martin Sheen on The West Wing) or is it espresso? On another note the Aussie Flat White is really catching on up here! Seems to me it’s basically a latte though…
I never really think that deeply about it. It’s just whatever coffee the machine spits out with milk & 2 sugars. A Latte is different though as my wife always has a Latte while I have a flat white. Unless the sneaky beggars are gining me Latte in the guise of normal coffee. At home a normal coffee is just a teaspoon of instant coffee with hot water, milk & 2 sugars. Same at work. Just normal. If I want coffee I want it quick with no messin’ around with filters, presses or machines so instant does it fine for me
Ah, coffee out of a machine and instant, eh? That works for me! Now, if I have it right, a latte and a flat white are almost the same thing, but there is less milk in a flat white?
